I just realised something. Ricky doesn't kisses anyone goodbye. He turns his head away. He does kisses you when you go visit him. I think he must be able to sense that we were going to leave him, thus, upsetting him. He is really almost like human man... [I bet pok will go "chucky....chucky"]

Anyway, after taking public transport to get around for the past two or so months, I realised Singaporeans are either downright rude or just lacking in human decency. Simple acts of kindness are missing in their everyday actions. For instance, people simply like to occupy both sides of the escalator, thus blocking the way of those who are in a rush. In London, this is simply unheard of! When I was in London many years ago, I did not see such behaviour at all. And their escalators are extremely long. Does that mean that London's society of the past are superior to that of Singapore's of today?

In my opinion, I do think so. Although Singaporeans are book-smart, able to sustain a small country and maintain it to a first world standards, their everyday's behaviour are no different from that of a third world country's. This is reflected in a Reader's Digest's informal survey. Rather depressing isn't it? Maybe everyone just start giving some effort to go out their way to make someone's day, perhaps, the standards of our society can reflect that of our economy....
